Solarize Port Townsend!
Solar PV Bulk Purchasing
and Installation Program
Power Trip Energy Corp is pleased to announce our Solarize Port Townsend 2012 bulk purchasing and installation program. Residents of Port Townsend and east Jefferson County who install grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with Power Trip Energy between April - June 2012 can save an additional $700 per kilowatt (kW).
What is Solarize Port Townsend? A solar photovoltaic (PV) bulk purchase and installation program available to residents of Port Townsend and east Jefferson County in the spring of 2012.
How much money can I save? Solar installations typically cost $3,800 - $6,000 / kilowatt (kW) after the 30% federal income tax credit. Through bulk purchasing and by scheduling back-to-back installations, Power Trip Energy will offer an additional $700/kW rebate per customer irrespective of the total number of kilowatts installed through the program. There is a maximum rebate amount $5,000 per customer, though if you install more than 7 KW, we will offer you a free installation of a Level II (240 V) Electric Vehicle Charging Station ($1500 value.)
How to learn more?
To
learn more about how grid tied solar PV systems work, what they cost,
and how to assess your home as a good solar candidate check out the
Solar FAQ (frequently asked questions) page on the Power Trip Energy web
site at
http://powertripenergy.com/faq.htm. Once you’ve learned the basics,
call our office at (360) 643-3080 to speak with a solar agent for more
information or to schedule a site evaluation.
What is the deadline to participate? The
deadline to participate in this year’s program is April 30th.
Installations will occur during April - June 2012.
How do I sign up for Solarize Port Townsend? All Solarize Port Townsend participants must first have a solar site evaluation. A $150 site evaluation fee is charged for this service and is credited towards the purchase of a solar PV system.
What solar modules will be offered? Power Trip Energy will help you select the most suitable solar modules for your home or business. SunPower, Sharp, and Sanyo modules (made in US), and Silicon Energy and Itek modules (made in WA) will be available through the Solarize Port Townsend program.
Power Trip Energy has installed over 235 grid tied solar PV systems in and around the north Olympic Peninsula since 2003.
Why are you doing this? We have learned that we can install more pv at a lower price through these Solarize programs. Whatever it takes to install more pv in our community is our goal. As of January 2012, 120 homes in Jefferson County had grid-tied renewable energy systems. This year our goal is to install 30 more on our neighbor's homes, bringing us to a total of 150, and which will comprise 1% of the homes in Jefferson County. Join us and you can be proud to be a member of this 1%.
